Château Citran 2022
Château Citran 2022AC Haut-Médoc, Grand Cru Classé en 1855 0043336 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $42.00 TASTING NOTE : Despite rigorous swirling, the 2022 Citran has a decent nose that never delivers that 'wow' factor. Maybe that is to come? The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, slightly granular in texture, gently building toward a slightly savory finish. Not bad at all, and I raised my banded score as a second bottle tasted three weeks later displayed a little more tension on the finish. I have faith in this Citran. Drinking window: 2026-2042. Score - 90-92. (Neal Martin, vinous.com, May 16, 2023)

Château Fourcas-Dupré 2022
Château Fourcas-Dupré 2022AC Listrac-Médoc 0043344 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $40.00 TASTING NOTE : Supple and juicy, nicely balanced with well integrated but powdery and softly gripping tannins. Really well worked, not the most complex, but really enjoyable and classic with rich, concentrated fruit, freshness and mass appeal. Lovely. On the tannic side but the texture is so appealing with no harshness and really harmonious fruit to acidity ratio. Gorgeous finesse and control, lots of detail and definition. A yield of 26hl/ha. Drinking window: 2025-2045. Score - 92. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com, June 14, 2023)

Château Desmirail 2022
Château Desmirail 2022AC Margaux, Grand Cru Classé en 1855 0043341 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $88.00 TASTING NOTE : Bright, perky and forward, the fruits shine out of the glass, alive and detailed - more lightly framed than some, elegant and refined with clear strawberry, red cherry and raspberry elements underpinned by lively acidity and firm but fine tannins. It's very Desmirail, not trying too hard, not pushing, just giving delicate, gentle finesse with lovely red fruit flavours. Detailed and nuanced - this isn't a blockbuster you're going to find elsewhere. Needs time, but will be excellent. Drinking window: 2026-2042. Score - 94. Pomerol |
Château Beauregard 2022
Château Beauregard 2022AC 0043335 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $155.00 TASTING NOTE : Intensely aromatic on the nose, perfumed and ripely fruited. Concentrated and nicely fleshy on the palate, the tannins give a bounce to the expression against the salty, blue fruits combined with freshness and juicy acidity. A little bit massy and forward still but this has lovely details, and you don't feel they've over extracted at all. Still has that touch of Pomerol glamour to it, deep with quite an intense initial taste that settles and expands with time in the glass towards a lovely airy, lifted finish. Lots of potential here. Tasted twice. Technical director Guillaume Fredoux and managing director Vincent Priou. Drinking window: 2025-2045. Score - 95. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com, June 1, 2023)

Full-bodied and solid with fine tannins that spread across the palate. Silky and soft at the end. Very long and fine. Wait and see. Score - 97-98. (jamessuckling.com, April 19, 2023)

Château La Tour Figeac 2022
Château La Tour Figeac 2022AC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé 0043345 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $88.00 TASTING NOTE : Aromatic, structured, elegant, Round, supple, calm, smooth, tannins are a touch firm and present but overall really support the dark bramble fruits with cool, creamy, mint and dark chocolate touches. Feels serious, nicely chewy and plush, deep and layered with more plump, weight in the mid-palate, more stuffing around the fruit with cool but fresh blue fruits and blackcurrant giving that darker frame. Really well constructed, opulent yet it does keep a tight frame and good focus all the way through. Feels more like a Pomerol - I like it. Harvested 12 September - 23 September. Ageing 16 months; 40% new barrels, 55% one wine, 5% Amphora. Derenoncourt consultants. Drinking window: 2025-2045. Score - 94. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com, March 31, 2023)

Château Cos Labory 2022AC Saint-Estèphe, Grand Cru Classé en 1855 0043337 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $84.00 TASTING NOTE : 93-95 Barrel sample. Now under the same ownership as Cos d'Estournel, this estate has produced a lighter, more poised wine than in the past. That brings out freshness and fine black-currant fruits to go alongside the structure. Score - 94. (Wine Enthusiast, Nov. 2, 2023)

Château Bastor-Lamontagne 2022
Château Bastor-Lamontagne 2022AC Sauternes 0043342 (S) 13% Alc./Vol. 375 mL $40.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2022 Bastor-Lamontagne has a pure bouquet with honeysuckle, dried honey and quince aromas. With much more focus than in previous vintages, the palate is well balanced with tangy marmalade notes on the entry. There's fine acidity, and the 2022 is harmonious with a minerally finish. It's the best wine I have tasted from this fast-improving Sauternes estate. Drinking window: 2027-2047. Score - 93-95. (Neal Martin, vinous.com, May 16, 2023)
