The likely final blend of the 2017 Badette should be 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it sports a fair bit of oak on the nose with hints of black cherries, crushed black berries and violets plus a waft of garrigue. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins and a lively core of vibrant fruit, finishing long with some spices coming through. Score - 91-93+-.
