The 2016 Chateau Ferrand has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis and a touch of truffle; not powerful but it has decent focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp opening, well judged acidity and plenty of 'cool' black fruit. The oak just impinges a little towards the finish, but if that can be addressed during the élevage, then it could turn into an attractive Pomerol for drinking over the next 8-10 years.
