The 2015 Clement Pichon is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc that was picked from September 21 until October 7 at 47 hectoliters per hectare, delivering a reasonable alcohol of 13.5%. It has a dense, powerful bouquet fueled by that Merlot - lush ripe black cherries and blueberry fruit, the 40% new oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, nicely balanced, perhaps one of the freshest Clement Pichon that I have tasted in recent vintages, with a lively, almost sorbet-like finish. This Haut-Médoc is worth looking out for as I can imagine this drinking well for 12-18 years. Score - 89-91. (Neal Martin, robertparker.com)
