Domaine de Cambes 2023
Domaine de Cambes 20230040506 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $75.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2023 Domaine des Cambes is endowed with serious depth and intensity. Swaths of tannin wrap around a core of dark red plum, blood orange, spice, new leather and cedar. Floral, citrus and spice overtones reappear on the finish, adding raciness and flair. A wine of real substance, Domaine des Cambes should be terrific after a few years in bottle. Drinking window: 2025-2035. Score - 90-92. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Pavillon Blanc 2023
Pavillon Blanc 20230040569 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $650.00 TASTING NOTE : Peach, apricot, nectarine, white chocolate, smells a little lemongrass and yoghurt on the nose, some richness on the nose. Weighty with a great texture on the palate. Seeing acidity gives the lift straight away - lemon juice, fully citrus, but so clean and so mineral too with oyster shell and salt on the undercurrent. It's still quite lean, but graceful and very elegant and very moreish. I love the style, sharp and tangy. Fresh, orange, lemon and peach, lovely bitter elements with juiciness and some richness in terms of texture. Bright and alive. It's very good. I like the tang on the super long finish. Well constructed. The teams picked between August 23 and 30 just in the mornings and pressed gently to preserve acidity. 3.15pH - a little higher than in 2021. 37hl/ha yield. 45% grand vin production, 50% second wine. Drinking window: 2026-2040. Score - 96. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com)

Château Grand Village 2023
Château Grand Village 20230040383 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $35.00 TASTING NOTE : Great aromatics, really ripe and expressive, deep and almost heady on the nose. Dark fruits, floral notes and liquorice spice. Round and supple, a lovely depth and layering of ripe fruit but so juicy and finessed at the same time. Spice and minerality around the edges - lots of bite and mineral grip. I love the character, really bright and tangy, high acidity but with ripe strawberry and red cherry alongside cooling liquorice, wet stone and a blueberry tang that stays and stays. Charming but with character too. Well constructed. Flavours really last - a vibrating wine, energetic but still with grip and tang. 3.45pH. Drinking window: 2027-2037. Score - 94. Les Perrières 2023
Les Perrières 20230040382 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $125.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2023 Les Perrières de Lafleur reveals aromas of violet, dark wild berries, spices and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and deep, layered and textured, it has a good depth of fruit with powdery tannins, concluding with a saline, lead pencil-inflected finish. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Franc, it's one of the most singular Les Perrières produced by Baptiste Guinaudeau and his team. Score - 94-96. (Yohan Castaing, robertparker.com)

Château Alcée 2023
Château Alcée 20230040226 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $35.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2023 Alcée was picked September 15 to 25 at 18.5hL/ha. Both samples were showing just a little reduction on the nose, though it opens in the glass with black cherries, boysenberry and light floral scents, violets and iris. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit, fine acidity, a more muscular Alcée here but at least there is freshness on the finish. The second sample at the end of my tasting exhibited more length and complexity and my score reflects this. Drinking window: 2027-2040. Score - 90-92. (Neal Martin, vinous.com)

Château d'Aiguilhe 2023
Château d'Aiguilhe 20230040467 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $37.00 TASTING NOTE : With almost chalky wet stone and ripe dark fruit aromas, this wine provides much pleasure, as it comes from limestone and clay soils on hillsides along the plateau of the appellation. With a 3.4pH to balance the alcohol, the tannins are a bit tight but the overall sense is of a cohesive, balanced and rounded palate that will gain from ageing in 20% new oak, with promising potential for a higher score. Drinking window: 2026-2040. Score - 92. (Panos Kakaviatos, decanter.com)

Château Montlandrie 2023
Château Montlandrie 20230040545 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $39.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2023 Montlandrie sees a change in composition, as a plot of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon that Noëmie Durantou planted in 2021 enters the blend for the first time. She found the first-pressed wine for the Cabernet Sauvignon impressive, so she also added that to the blend. The result is 55% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked between September 18 and 30 and matured in 50% new oak. This new makeup certainly gives it a different aromatic profile than previous vintages: black cherries, cedar and pencil shavings, very focused, more Left-Bank-meetsRight-Bank in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It's beautifully structured and judiciously spiced with gentle grip on the finish. Together with Les Cruzelles, these wines represent outstanding value for money. This will certainly age well in bottle. Drinking window: 2027-2047. Score - 92-94. (Neal Martin, vinous.com)

Château Roc de Cambes 2023
Château Roc de Cambes 20230040505 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $110.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2023 Roc de Cambes opens with a super-distinctive, exotic bouquet. Super-ripe black cherry, kirsch, hard candy, chocolate, spice, amaro herbs, menthol and worn-in leather infuse the palate with tremendous depth. Roc de Cambes is a quirky wine, but it certainly doesn't lack character. Drinking window: 2025-2037. Score - 90-92. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, sorbet-fresh with hints of blood orange interwoven through its fabric. Quite persistent on the finish, this is a Dalem with tons of promise. Superb. Succulent dark fruit, chocolate, spice, licorice, menthol and a kiss of French oak race across the palate. Silky, plush tannins wrap it all together. This is a stellar showing.
