Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice and mint grace a delicate, understated Domaine des Cambes that is all charm. The 2021 is attractive, but also a bit light in texture but it opens nicely with a bit of air. Drinking window: 2024-2033. Score - 90-92. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Pavillon Blanc 2021
Pavillon Blanc 20210029531 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $575.00 TASTING NOTE : Gorgeous peach tone on the nose, with bright lemon, clementine, green apple skin and crushed stones too. Super sharp and fresh straight out the gate, this is searing, focussed and neat with a shot of lemon juice, so zingy on the mid palate giving a green apple and peach freshness towards the end. Fruity and extremely lively. It has an unctuous texture, not weighty but delectably textured with a silkiness. You have the acidity but also the opulence, it's both sharp and immensely layered. A joyful combination of freshness and power - supremely impressive with vibrancy and mass appeal. Drinking Window: 2024-2049. Score - 97. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com)

Château Le Pin Beausoleil 20210029886 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $31.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2021 Le Pin Beausoleil is quite floral and lifted, with lovely energy and tons of lass. This is an especially restrained vintage for the château, but all the elements are nicely balanced. A burst of red/purplish fruit, rose petal and lavender, punctuates the finish. Drinking Window: 2026-2041. Score - 89-91. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Château Alcée 2021
Château Alcée 20210029034 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $33.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2021 Alcée is another terrific entry-level offering from Nicolas Thienpont. Cabernet aromatics meld into a core of red-fleshed fruit, with hints of cedar, tobacco and anise that lend further presence. There's real depth and density here. This is the first vintage that includes a new block of Cabernet Franc, which works so well in the blend. A rush of intense floral and savory notes lingers. Tasted two times. Drinking Window: 2023-2031. Score - 90-92. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Château Ampélia 2021
Château Ampélia 20210029197 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $25.00 TASTING NOTE : Produced by François Despagne of Grand Corbin-Despagne, the 2021 Ampélia derives from an 8.80-hectare vineyard in the Côtes de Castillon near Château d'Aiguilhe and Joanin Bécot. Bursting with aromas of sweet red berries, cherries and sweet soil tones, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and a fleshy, charming profile. Château d'Aiguilhe 2021
Château d'Aiguilhe 20210029312 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $35.00 TASTING NOTE : A combination of ripe summer fruits on the nose with some smoked earth and chalky aromas. Lovely energy here, the red fruit - strawberry, raspberry and red cherry stops just short of being tart - it has this delicious crunchy almost sour flavour before settling revealing the chalky mid-palate. Tannins are fine but give soft support balancing the elements and driving the flavours from start to finish. So much joy drinking this wine with the terroir showing through and giving the textural elements which are so appealing. I like this a lot. Drinking Window: 2023-2029. Score - 90. Clos Les Lunelles 2021
Clos Les Lunelles 20210029169 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $45.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2021 Clos Lunelles was picked at 36hL/ha, twice the yield of Monbousquet this year, advantaged by plots exposed to wind that inhibits the spread of rot. Picked October 7-11, it offers a mélange of red and blueberry on the nose, along with hints of wilted violet petals and orange sorbet. It feels more harmonious than the Monbousquet. The palate is mediumbodied with fine grip and nicely judged acidity (pH is 3.58). There is backbone to this Clos Lunelles, the 10% Cabernet Sauvignon imparting graphite notes toward the finish. This is worth seeking out, though note that alcohol level is high for the vintage at 14.45%. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. Score - 91-93. (Neal Martin, vinous.com)

Black cherry, plum, licorice, smoke, tobacco, incense and dried herbs build effortlessly in the glass. All the elements are beautifully balanced. The 2021 is so appealing today, but it clearly offers considerable potential for the future. Drinking window: 2026-2036. Score - 92-94. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Château La Prade 2021
Château La Prade 20210029035 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $27.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2021 La Prade shows terrific density and depth. Angular contours need time to soften, but there is more Franc in the blend this year, which no doubt informs the wine's overall feel. Aromatic, deep and also wonderfully vibrant, the 2021 offers quite a bit of potential. Bold red plum fruit, iron, blood orange and cinnamon build into the deep, explosive finish. This is a stellar showing. Tasted three times. Drinking Window: 2025-2036. Score - 89-91. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com)

Château Puygueraud 2021
Château Puygueraud 20210029037 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $29.00 TASTING NOTE : Scented red berry notes on the nose, clean and clear. Lively and so appealing, just such an easy charm here, not trying to do too much. Smooth and soft with the fragrance continuing on the palate alongside juicy red berry fruit, gentle creaminess and a subtle liquorice base. So expressive, you get the light structure with youthful appeal. Lightly framed but this has an energetic thrust with an iodine, salty tang at the end. Julien Lavenu consultant. A lovely wines from Francs this year. Tasted twice. Drinking Window: 2024-2030. Score - 90. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com)

Acidity gives a liveliness and the clarity of each elements presents the terroir clearly in the glass. Wild, confident and bold. The balanced palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and assiduously integrated oak. It fans out generously on the finish. Classy Fronsac. Score - 91-93. (Neal Martin, vinous.com)

Château Fontenil 2021
Château Fontenil 20210029582 (XD) 13% Alc./Vol. 750 mL $41.00 TASTING NOTE : The 2021 Fontenil is a bright, punchy wine. Vibrant acids and sweet, lifted aromatics are some of the signatures. In 2021, Fontenil isn't as overt or rich as it can be, but that's hardly an issue. I have to say, I very much like this more nuanced, energetic style. Drinking Window: 2026-2026. Score - 90-92. Beautifully layered palate - soft, gentle and delicate with ripe blackcurrants, black cherries and plums to the fore, while fine tannins give support to the overall frame. It's certainly on the more delicate side, but this has such vivacious energy and will be lovely to enjoy soon. Also shows a lick of slate and liquorice at the end giving texture and an added flavour dimension, suggesting there is more to this than its initial easy-drinking character. A stellar effort this year. Drinking Window: 2025-2030. Score - 92. (Georgina Hindle, decanter.com)
